Why You Should Never Consume Bottled Water?

Water is life, without water our life would not exist. Water is needed by our body to complete various functioning properly and also to maintain body temperature. Water is required not only for drinking purposes but also for day to day cooking needs. But do you ever wondered how this water is prepared for us for drinking? Water is packed in small quantities and shipped all over the globe. This includes the packing of water in a low-grade plastic which is harmful to our body. Moreover, these are not safe for daily use, whatever the labels and packing of these bottles say but remember they are still unsafe. Although companies use BPA (Bisphenol A) free water bottles but when these bottles are exposed to heat then many other chemicals are mixed into the water which is supplied through the bottle for drinking. The Plastic is made from petroleum products which are used to make drinking water bottles. Another great reason is that these bottles are not recycled by the people which may take up to 450 years to decompose and meanwhile it releases various substances and pollute the water, soil, and air.

Let’s talk about the aftermath of these used water bottles. You may or might have seen people collecting and cleaning the water bottles at the New Delhi railway station. These poor people clean the water and resell it by pasting a cello tape around the bottle cap. Moreover, they use feviquick to maintain the seal to its original place so that it looks authentic.

According to theory and research that scientists made, tap water is considered to be safer if they are periodically examined for bacteria and are maintained properly. One may come across some villages which still uses Hand pumps (ground water) as the source of drinking water. Moreover, the expiry date written on the neck of the bottle is not the expiry date of liquid contained inside it but the expiry date of the plastic container.

Bottled water means garbage, plastic waste which is now at such a great risk to deal with. An initiative taken by our Indian government has set up water booths in many cities. Moreover, there’s a simple alternative available for this purpose: use steel bottles of any size or shape, whichever you desire. Steel is considered to be the best material as a container in many food industries. The chemistry behind the water in the plastic bottles is plastic adversely harms the body and might cause cancer when it comes in contact with water releases. This all happens due to a chemical called Phthalate. So stay safe by drinking good water and make sure you live healthily.
